Last week Amy posted on Weight Watcher's Lose for Good campaign that launches this Sunday, September 7th. For six weeks (September 7 - October 18), for every pound lost by its members, WW will donate the equivalent of one pound of food to Share Our Strength up to ONE MILLION DOLLARS.

So why am I posting this information again??? Because the good people at Weight Watchers have given us two complimentary memberships to Weight Watchers Online to giveaway! That's right people. Just leave a comment with the silliest diet you ever tried- perhaps you only ate grapefruit for a month or you lived on carbonated water and h pixie sticks, whatever it was, share it in the comment section and you'll be entered to win.

We'll announce the winners here on Friday, September 19th. Two lucky people will be on their way to being losers, just like us!

Note: You must be a resident of the U.S. to enter. Please include your email address in your comment if it is not attached to your user name.

A couple of years ago, I tried the Master Cleanse...for about six hours. At that point I figured I was probably dying of starvation, so the only thing that made sense was to take myself out for Mexican.

My craziest diet occurred during my senior year of college while working on my senior thesis project. I lived for weeks on Diet Mt. Dew, Slim Fast, and multivitamins (to keep the survey away obviously!). It worked well until all the cans tumbled down and almost crushed me while typing away at my computer in the middle of the night a few days before the project was due.

I did the extreme Adkins diet off an on for a few months one summer. My husband only did the first two weeks with me. I didn't lose but a pound or two and my husband lost 10 (which was all he needed to lose). I needed to lost about 60 lbs at the time, and that was so discouraging. I stopped because I felt so unhealthy.

Here I am still needing to lose significant weight. A Weight Watchers membership would be just the thing to get me started...the healthier way.

Ooh, this is tough, but such a great prize!

I once did Atkins in college. I knew I suffered from hypoglycemia, but clearly didn't understand the physiology of what that meant.

I lasted four days on the strict portion of the program. Dizziness, shakiness, trouble concentrating, cold sweats - I thought I had the flu and kept going with my no-carb lifestyle. And then I passed out in my Theatre History class on the fourth morning. (I still remember it was in Presser Hall and the prof. was Dr. Blanning.)

A granola bar and a plate of pasta later, I felt fine. Lesson learned.

Don't get me started on the time I tried the cabbage soup diet...

Oh I want this so badly!

The craziest diet I ever tried was trying to eliminate all fat from my diet.

It didn't work. I ate way too many carbs and ended up putting on heaps of weight.

Once in college I stopped eating breakfast (bad me) and only ate salads and soup. I got sick of that after about a week. Didn't work either.

I tried slim fast after college and it gave me horrible gas. Never again!

Now I'm all about trying to change my eating habits...

I fell victim to the Adkin's no carb craze a few years ago. I lasted for six days. At one point, I felt willing to commit murder for a bagel. It was maddening. I was cranky, had a constant headache, and felt inprisioned in a world with no carbs. It was then I realized that everything (in moderation) is allowed in my diet.

Besides, I knew eating all the cheese I wanted to eat couldn't be a good thing...no matter what they said.

I, too, did the Atkins Diet. The day I realized my pantry was full of substitution products such as "Ketatoes" (um, yes, to make a mashed-potatoes-like substance out of cauliflower) I thought it was time to stop, that and the 4-month plateau I was on!

I've used Slim Fast before...and just cut back on my portions. Nothing really crazy though. I would LOVE to win this...I could stand to lose 50+ pounds!!

I'd love to have some accountability and help from others who have done WW.

The silliest diet that I ever tried was the starvation diet. Who can really ever win on that diet?

Ok I've done so many diets - the cabbage diet, the grapefruit diet, Atkins, Slim Fast,Master Cleanse, etc.

I've taken diet pills and sat wondering if my heart was going to burst.

But the craziest diet I've done is the Apple cider vinegar and fruit diet. Directions said to drink 2 Tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and eat two servings of fruit per meal. I decided that since 2 tablespoons was good, a 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar would be even better. After drinking it, I had such intense stomach pains.

I drank apple cider vinegar too!! It was like drinking easter egg dye. EWwwwww. Did not notice any effects of this great plan either!

I have tried them all and even broke down with a co-worker to try the lemonade diet. It was aweful. Raw lemon juice, maple syrup and water. Too bad I didnt read the date on the book to see it was from the early 70's or I might not have been so eager to try it. Talk about wanting normal food. I only wish that I could find something that works, I liked Atkins, but missed pasta and fruit. I took diet pills and gained weight, and now have just been watching what I eat, and working out. So far not much has been lost. Only less that 5 pounds, but I guess its a start. I would never recommend anyone trying the lemonade diet. Its aweful and kills your stomach.

My roommate and I practically lived on Metabolife in college. We both had the jitters constantly for months.

My worst attempt at dieting was the Kellogg's cereal diet. I freaking starved for about 2 days before I gave up. I am a gal that likes to eat, hence the growing waistline. Really, I need how to learn to eat well. Losing weight is great, I want to be healthy though.

My craziest diet try was back in 7th grade, I thought I could get by with just eating one Tootsie Pop a day...it so did not work :(

The craziest diet I ever tried was in my WAY younger day, when I could go for days without eating, I would go for days without eating. Only drinking water. Yeah, not healthy, and looking back on it I really didn't need to lose weight back then. LOL

Ooh, I want this one.
I've battled weight most of my life, and have certainly tried my share of bizarre diets, but I believe the one to beat them all was a combination of my own devising - the sunflower seed and grapefruit juice diet. I lasted a week on that bad boy, and certainly lost weight before I decided I actually needed energy to make it through the day.

I've tried the Atkins diet before, but that just didn't work for me. I missed my carbs way too much!

If I win, can I give the membership to my husband? He really could benefit from this ...

My most ridiculous was the Lemonade Diet ... SERIOUSLY!!!! That stuff is nasty and ok for like 2 hours ....

Naomi- isnt that one aweful. I was extremely desperate when I tried that one. I attempted to workout on day two of the lemonade diet and it wasnt pretty. I think I almost fainted from lack of food. I only lasted one week on it before my friends and family basically told me to eat and get over it. wow... it was rough.

When I was in high school (in the late 1970s), I did this crazy diet called the Daniel Fast. It's actually a Biblical based diet. I remember you were suppose to eat a plain baked potato for breakfast. I don't even remember if it worked for me. I do remember that it drove my mother (the dietitian) crazy when I did it! Isn't that the joy of any teenage girl? Apparently, it's still around: http://danielfast.wordpress.com/

Holy cow, how much time do you have on your hands?? lol.

Back in 10th grade (in the 80's) my Mom and I did this liquid fast called "The Cambridge Plan". It consisted of nasty vanilla and chocolate shakes that tasted like CHALK, and that god awful cabbage soup. I still can't eat cabbage, it brings back horrible memories.

I guess my two craziest diets were Slim Fast (circa 1990's) that ended up making me lose 10 -15 pounds and then I started eating food and gained like 20-25 back.
Then the Adkins diet, and we followed it to the tee.. testing our urine for Ketones, eating cheese laden beef. Really. It worked, but you can't live like that :) and who wants to test their urine? Really.
So now I know it's cutting back and exercising. Really that's all you can do.
